정장선 평택시장, "새로운 도약을 위해 최선 다할 것"
기자간담회서 2020년 10대 중점 추진방향 밝혀
[파이낸셜뉴스 평택=장충식 기자] 정장선 경기 평택시장이 9일 "2020년은 반도체와 수소, 자동차 산업 등 미래 산업과 연관 산업을 육성하는 한해가 될 것"이라며 "평택의 밝은 미래와 새로운 도약을 위해 최선 다할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
"The year 2020 will be a year to foster future industries and related industries such as semiconductor, hydrogen and automobile industries," said Mayor Jung Jang-sun of Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province on Tuesday. "We will do our best to make a bright future for Pyeongtaek and make a new leap forward."
정 시장은 이날 시청 종합상황실에서 열린 신년 기자간담회를 통해 이같이 밝히고, "2019년은 평택에 있어 그 어느 해보다 역동적이었다"고 평가했다. 그러면서 정 시장은 평택시 인구 50만 진입과 도시재생뉴딜사업, 수소생산시설 구축 등 7대 공모사업 선정을 주요 성과로 꼽으며 "올해는 그동안 평택을 위해 그려온 계획들이 구체화되는 중요한 해가 될 것"이라고 강조했다.
Chung made the remark during a New Year’s press conference held in the city hall’s general situation room, saying that the year 2019 was more dynamic than any other year for Pyeongtaek. “This year will be an important year when the plans we have drawn for Pyeongtaek are materialized,” Chung said, citing the selection of seven public projects, including the entry of 500,000 people in Pyeongtaek, the urban regeneration New Deal project and the establishment of hydrogen production facilities.
또 브레인시티, 평택호관광단지 등 정체됐던 사업들의 본격 추진과 더불어 미세먼지 저감을 위한 도시숲 사업 시작과 평택항 육상전원공급시설(AMP) 확보, 지역 정 시장은 이날 시청 종합상황실에서 열린 신년 기자간담회를 통해 이같이 밝히고, "2019년은 평택에 있어 그 어느 해보다 역동적이었다"고 평가했다.

이에 따라 정 시장은 "올해는 반도체·수소·자동차 산업들과 같은 미래 산업과 연관 산업을 육성하는 ‘산업구조 고도화’" 추진에 집중하겠다"는 입장을 밝혔다. 이어 권역별 도시재생사업 활성화를 통한 ‘도시 균형 발전’과 ‘지역 상권 활성화’, 미세먼지와 하천 수질 개선 및 대규모 공원 확충 등 ‘쾌적한 주거 환경 조성’을 평택 발전의 핵심으로 삼아 세밀하게 관련 정책들을 추진해 나간다는 방침이다.
“We will focus on promoting ‘advancement of industrial structure’ that will foster future industries and related industries such as semiconductor, hydrogen and automobile industries this year,” said Mayor Chung. The government plans to implement policies related to the development of Pyeongtaek, using “balanced urban development” through the revitalization of urban regeneration projects by region, “environment of pleasant residential environment such as revitalization of local commercial areas, improvement of fine dust and river water quality, and expansion of large-scale parks.”
2020년 중점 추진 사업으로는 △미래산업 육성 도시 △전 지역이 잘 사는 도시 △건강하고 쾌적한 도시 △즐거운 문화관광 도시 △활력 넘치는 경제도시 △품격 높은 교육 명품 도시 △시민 모두 편리한 도시 △365일 안전한 도시 △함께 나누는 복지 도시 △시민과 함께하는 도시 등 10대 사업을 선정했다.

정 시장은 “평택의 미래를 위한 계획들을 차근차근 수립해 추진하고 있다”면서 “시민들의 의견을 더 많이 듣고 소통하며, 시민들이 공감할 수 있는 생명력 있는 정책들을 실행해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
”We are working on establishing and pushing plans for the future of Pyeongtaek step-by-step,” Chung said. “We will listen to the opinions of citizens more, communicate with them, and implement vital policies that citizens can sympathize with.”
