이번 UN총회에서는 그 동안 사사건건 부딪쳐 온 미국과 중국 두 정상이 다시 전투를 벌였습니다. 공격은 트럼프 대통령, 수비는 시진핑 주석이었는데, 트럼프 대통령은 아예 '차이나 바이러스', 중국 바이러스라는 말까지 써가며 중국을 노골적으로 비난했고, 시진핑 주석은 코로나를 정치화해서는 안 된다고 방어했습니다. 트럼프 대통령 연설에 매년 등장했던 북한 얘기는 이번엔 없었습니다.

The two leaders of the U.S. and China, who have been bumping into each other in the past, fought again at the U.N. General Assembly. The attack was by President Trump, who openly criticized China by using the words "China virus" and President Xi Jinping defended himself and China saying the “Coronavirus should not be politicized.” In President Trump’s yearly speech there was no mention of North Korea. Washington correspondent Park Sung-ho.

In his video speech, President Trump called COVID-19 the "Chinese Virus" and said the United Nations should hold China responsible for the outbreak of COVID-19 around the world.

"In the early days of the virus, China blocked the movement domestically, while allowing flights to leave China, infecting the world." President Trump accused the Chinese government and the de facto Chinese-controlled “World Health Organization” of lying, that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission. President Xi Jinping, who is also speaking to the U.N. General Assembly, did not openly mention the U.S., but he refuted China's claim of responsibility.

"We will defeat the virus. Humanity will win this fight. I refuse to politicize the issue and brand it." President Xi said there is a need to follow science's guidance and give the World Health Organization a leading role and international cooperation in fighting the epidemic. President Trump has devoted most of his speech to China, citing China's responsibility for environmental pollution, but President Xi Jinping stressed the resolution of the dispute through dialogue and negotiations, saying he has no intention of waging a cold war with any country. Meanwhile, President Trump did not mention North Korea for the first time in his fourth speech at the U.N. General Assembly.
